Our Ministerial Services Branch (MSB) within DCCEEW is currently seeking a highly motivated
Senior Ministerial Liaison Officer
to join our dynamic team, in an ongoing capacity. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to high-profile areas including climate change, energy, environment, and heritage.
About the role
As a Senior Ministerial Liaison Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely advice to Ministers and DCCEEW executives.
You will:
- draft, coordinate, and review ministerial briefings and correspondence
- provide clear, risk-assessed advice on complex and sensitive issues
- collaborate across the Department and with other government stakeholders
- support decision-making on initiatives that shape NSW's environmental and energy landscape
This role offers a unique view across governance, public policy, and program delivery, with strong career development pathways within the NSW public sector.
About You
You are a confident communicator and strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
You bring:
- strong writing and editing skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy
- excellent organisational skills to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- sound judgement, diplomacy, and analytical thinking to navigate sensitive issues
- a customer-focused mindset and commitment to public service excellence
Key knowledge and experience
- Experience in providing high-level advice on complex, sensitive, or controversial issues to senior management or ministerial level
- Sound understanding of the machinery of government and relevant legislation
