About The Role
This leadership role oversees the operations and strategic direction of Victoria's first Medically Supervised Injecting Room, ensuring high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based harm reduction services. You'll guide a multidisciplinary team, manage program delivery, and strengthen partnerships that promote health, dignity, and inclusion for people who use drugs
- Lead and support a team of Harm Reduction Practitioners to deliver safe, client-centred services
- Oversee daily operations, program planning, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Respond to and review critical incidents and medical emergencies
- Manage budgets, reporting, and compliance with organisational and legislative standards
- Build strong relationships with sector partners, health services, and government stakeholders
- Champion harm reduction principles and advocate for the rights of people who use drugs
- Contribute to the strategic growth and innovation of NRCH's harm reduction programs
About You
You're a confident and compassionate leader who thrives in dynamic environments and is driven by social justice and community impact. With strong experience in AOD or mental health services, you bring both professional credibility and genuine empathy to your work.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in health sciences, social work, psychology, community development or a related field
- 5+ years' experience leading multidisciplinary teams in AOD or mental health settings
- Deep understanding of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and co-occurring conditions
- Skilled in managing complex incidents and fostering calm, clear decision-making under pressure
- Proven ability to develop programs, secure funding, and implement innovative service models
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and advocate effectively
- Committed to fostering inclusion, wellbeing, and professional growth within your team
