Operator Maintainer

We're offering two full-time, permanent Operator Maintainer positions at the NRG Power Station in Gladstone.

Reporting to the Team Leader – Ash Operations, you'll be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and servicing of the ash processing plant. Key duties include equipment maintenance, ash sampling and testing, recording results, and liaising with power station personnel.

Rosters available:

Day Shift (Trade Qualified)

• Monday to Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm
• Includes weekend work once every four weeks
• Boilermaking trade qualification required

Afternoon Shift (No Trade Required)

• Monday to Friday, 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm
• Includes weekend work once every four weeks
• No trade qualification required

Your Opportunity

• Contribute to a safe work environment for self and others, actively participating in safety meetings, observations and toolbox talks. Comply with Power Station & Cement Australia SHEQ policies and procedures
• Perform occasional boilermaker tasks as required.
• Operate control systems, perform scheduled and reactive maintenance of ash process related equipment including pneumatic conveying equipment, pneumatic systems and valves
• Monitor product quality through sample taking, analysis & minor reporting
• Commission plant equipment when required
• Maintain ash stocks to appropriate and practical levels
• Engage with Cement Australia Supply Chain & Logistics and others regarding site rules and power station requirements
• Ensure all customer deliveries are to specification and delivered on time

What You'll Bring

• Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication, or equivalent trade certificate
• Computer Skills including SAP highly regarded
• Experience in a similar role with previous process operator experience is essential
• Motor Vehicle, forklift, scissor lift and EWP (Elevated Work Platform) Licences desirable
• Strong safety focus
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Trouble-shooting ability and root cause analysis skills
• Ability and willingness to flex shift patterns and ash processing sites as required for breakdowns, leave or coverage - this includes weekend, public holiday work and call outs
