About the opportunity
- We have an opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist (P2) or Senior Clinical Psychologist (P3) to join our dynamic multidisciplinary Mercy Mental Health Residential Recovery Services team
- Working across 2 sites at Community Care Unit CCU Werribee and Prevention & Recovery Care (PARC) Deer Park
- The team focuses on best practice, individually tailored consumer care, to meet the needs of adults aged 18-60 years within residential based public mental health settings
- The Clinical Psychologist provides psychological assessment, formulation, individual therapy and group therapy for resident consumers, and offers psychological contributions to treatment planning and recommendations in consultation with the larger multidisciplinary team
- Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, the Clinical Psychologist offers a range of high quality psychological interventions to assist consumers in achieving their recovery goals, increase their independence, and build an improved quality of life, while supporting relapse prevention, discharge planning, and skill building
- In partnership with leadership and psychology registrars, the Clinical Psychologist is involved in developing and improving CCU and PARC psychological services and group programs
- Permanent part-time role, 3 days a week

To thrive in this role, you will have:
- Registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist, with Area of Practice Endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist
- Experience practising in Psychology under a Recovery Orientated Mental Health Service Framework
- Interest in the intersection between psychiatric, psychological, and systemic approaches to holistic health care
- Sound knowledge and skills in evidence-based psychological therapies, such as CBT, ACT, DBT, CFT, preferably with experience in group therapy facilitation
- Clinical competence in mental state examination and risk management
- Experience in delivery of clinical psychology services to people with severe and complex mental health presentations
- Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve
- A compassionate, responsive, flexible and positive approach to effective consumer care and management
- The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment
- Commitment to professional development and supervision, with strong reflective abilities
- For P2 Clinical Psychologist role: Candidates currently engaged in an AHPRA Clinical Psychology Registrar Program will be considered
- For P3 Senior Clinical Psychology role: Interest in providing clinical supervision to early career psychologists, with either endorsement as a Psychology Supervisor or working towards completion of the same.
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
- A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check
- Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders
- Relevant postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology and AHPRA registration as a Psychologist.
