Toowoomba Motors Pty Ltd – Automotive Service Technician

About the role

Toowoomba Motors Pty Ltd currently require an Automotive Service Technician to perform a range of engine and mechanical tests, to diagnose, repair and service vehicles. In accordance with Toyota servicing and warranty guidelines, and company procedures.

Responsibilities, tasks & duties include:

  • Providing expert advice in relation to current mechanical condition of vehicles;
  • Complete vehicle services as per Toyota's maintenance schedule;
  • Complete warranty repairs, as required under Toyota warranty procedures including the dismantling and reconstruction or replacement of faulty components;
  • Repairing and or reconditioning vehicles as directed;
  • Reporting all necessary work, service or repairs to service foreman/controller and record on repair order. Record all relevant written information as required for all service work completed;
  • Providing guidance and training to apprentice service technicians;
  • Maintaining an up to date knowledge of all mechanical issues and changes relating to dealer product range;
  • Maintaining a safe working environment , ensuring the correct operation of all tools and specialised equipment, adhere to WH&S guidelines;
  • Test driving and conducting final assessments prior to the delivery or return of vehicles to customers;
  • Providing high level customer service;
  • Ensuring that all work areas are kept clean, and organised;

Skills and experience

Applicants MUST have the following qualifications and recent employment experience:

  • Trade qualifications as an Automotive Service Technician;
  • Minimum 5 years employment experience as a motor mechanic or relevant and related occupation;
  • Ability to work productively unsupervised;
  • Highly motivated;
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills;
  • Customer Service focused;
  • Commitment to Toyota's goals and operational standards;
  • Current valid QLD drivers licence;

Base salary: $76,515.00 – $86,515.00 plus superannuation.
