About This Role
We are seeking an experienced Sourcing Specialist to join our Perth team, supporting our expanding operations. You'll play a key role connecting operations, maintenance, and suppliers — sourcing, negotiating, and delivering critical HME and mechanical parts for our internal maintenance and rental fleet.
This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional with strong technical and commercial skills to contribute to a dynamic, growth-focused business.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure HME and mechanical components in alignment with SMS's procurement strategy and governance standards.
- Work closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to interpret technical specifications and identify fit-for-purpose or alternative supply options.
- Lead supplier negotiations to achieve the best value in pricing, delivery, and commercial terms.
- Accurately manage purchase orders and ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Collaborate with purchasing, logistics, inventory, and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels and reduce supply chain risk.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring and reporting supplier performance.
- Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives and process improvements across the supply function.

What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience in procurement or sourcing within mining, heavy equipment, or mechanical parts industries.
- Strong negotiation and commercial management skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation and specifications.
- A proactive and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Sound understanding of procurement governance, compliance, and systems.
