Functions Manager

Eatons Hill Hotel provides a unique and award-winning Conference & Functions experience for clients providing a choice of up to 20 spaces dependent on requirements and atmosphere needed, leading the way with a strong team of hospitality experts and coordinating functions from small social functions to large

The right applicant will bring attention to detail to the execution of our conferences & functions of the multi-venue business

The Role:

The Functions Operations Managerwill provide a hands-on leadership style that is service focused with attention to detail.

The diversity of event spaces includes multiple boardroom & conference facilities, lakeside wedding area, roof top bars through to the multi-level Grand Ballroom that seats up to 600 guests.  In addition, the award winning 90-room boutique accommodation property provides further value for our clients and visitors.

You will report directly to the General Manager & Venue Manager, working alongside an ambitious team who are all about crafting extraordinary experiences for our customers.

This role will oversee our corporate and social functions and weddings, ensuring they are nothing short of spectacular whilst boosting revenue, crafting memorable moments and building strong relationships with everyone who walks through our doors.

Oversee the operations of the event from start to finish, including team briefings, production arrivals, and timeline adherence.

Act as the main point of contact for all on-site issues or changes.

Ensure all service teams (e.g., catering, AV, bar staff, waitstaff) are operating efficiently and according to the event plan.

Manage on-the-ground staff rostering, delegation, and problem resolution.

Perform hands-on tasks including furniture placement, signage installation, minor AV adjustments, etc., as needed.

Supervise and participate in pack-down and clean-up operations.

Ensure all equipment is returned, accounted for, and in good condition.

Reporting incidents, issues, or feedback to management and/or clients.

Organise beverage stock needs, transfers and POS requirements

Review event outcomes and identify improvement areas for future functions.

· Proven experience managing large scale functions & events

· A current QLD RSA Certificate

· Availability across a 5-day working roster – AM, PM & Weekend shifts

· A confident, engaging, guest focused personality with a passion for delivering memorable experiences

· Natural leadership skills with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Exceptional time management and organisation skills - you are a master of prioritisation

· Success in delivering profit and controlling costs
