About the role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Hydraulic Estimator and Operations Manager to join our dynamic team at Advanced Plumbing & Drains'. This full-time role in our Canberra office is pivotal to the success of our Construction business, responsible for providing accurate estimates and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our plumbing and drainage projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for a variety of plumbing and drainage projects
  • Reviewing technical drawings, specifications and project requirements to identify all necessary materials, labour and equipment
  • Collaborating with project managers, site supervisors and subcontractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery
  • Monitoring job progress, identifying and resolving any operational issues that may arise
  • Tracking and reporting on project budgets, timelines and key performance metrics
  • Preparing WHS Plans for projects.
  • Preparing and developing project start up documents to handover to site teams.
  • Estimating and Procuring materials.
  • Fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years' experience in the Hydraulic Industry including Estimating and Operations management.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of construction IT.
  • Proven track record of preparing accurate, competitive estimates for a range of plumbing and drainage projects
  • Expert knowledge of construction materials, costs, labour rates and industry practices
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and time management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of WHS compliance withing the construction industry.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Proficient with quantity take-off software and project management tools
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
