About us

The Portable Long Service Authority (the Authority) is a self-funded statutory body established to administer the Long Service Benefits Portability Act 2018. The Act, together with the Long Service Benefits Portability Regulations 2020 provide a Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme. The Authority plays an important role in allowing workers in the community services, contract cleaning and security industries to build up long service benefits based on time in their industry rather than with a single employer. About the role

As the Senior Manager for Investigations and Enforcement, you will lead the strategic direction and execution of complex criminal investigations and enforcement initiatives and the evolution of the investigations function. You will apply sound judgement in high-stakes environments, pinpointing and seizing opportunities to enhance investigation results through prioritized risk assessments, intelligence-driven strategies, sound criminal procedures, and innovative reporting and technology applications.

A key aspect of this position will involve the ability to make strategic judgment calls, offer expert guidance on case selection, investigations, and prosecution recommendations, act as the subject matter expert in the development of the Authority's compliance and enforcement system (and supporting processes and policies) and provide strategic leadership to the team to ensure delivery of the the Authority's regulatory priorities.

This position is located in Bendigo but can also be carried out from our Melbourne office

About you

To become a critical member of the Enforcement team, you will have well developed skills that include,

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic criminal investigation and enforcement activity aligned with organisational priorities and regulatory approach.
  • Lead as the 'subject matter expert' on investigation process design in the development of an investigations technological solutions system.
  • Lead and mentor the investigations team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Make high-level investigation decisions, provide advice to the team and/or senior leaders on case selection, investigation scope, evidentiary requirements, enforcement pathways, and resource allocation, ensuring resources are directed to areas of greatest regulatory risk.
