Southern Cross Marine Supplies is a subsidiary of Superior Food Group and has been servicing the local ports and maritime industry with providore services for over 30 years. We are a market leader in the region and have long-established relationships with local port authorities and agencies.

This role operates on a rotating schedule: Monday to Friday one week, and Tuesday to Saturday the following week. Must be available to work Saturdays as per the roster.

Due to recent movements within the business, we now have an exciting opportunity within a dynamic and rewarding industry for Administration Support to be part of our team at our Hemmant site.

Under the general direction and guidance of the General Manager, this position is key to the smooth day-to-day running of the branch and will be part of a small team.

Our day-to-day routine will look something like this:

  • Processing of ships/client orders
  • Liaise with shipping agents
  • Inputting of quotes/order forms/contract pricing
  • Converting quotes to orders
  • Monitoring of Orders to enable them to be picked/packed/dispatched, and delivered before the vessels' departure
  • Any other duties which may be required by your manager and or that are within your skills, training, and capabilities

All About You

  • A minimum of 1-3 years' experience in a similar role is preferred, but not essential
  • An outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Great negotiation skills with strong attention to detail and customer focus
  • Be self-motivated, work without supervision, and be able to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Intermediate level computer skills in standard "Windows" applications
  • Ensure all occupational safety and health requirements are adhered to according to company requirements and OH&S legislation
