A member of the Callide Engineering team, the Control Systems Engineer supports the E&IC Engineering Superintendent in providing asset management services with a longer-term focus. The role supports the operational sites by providing guidance and support to operate the assets safely and cost effectively in accordance with organisational strategy while sustaining life expectancy. Responsible for improving plant performance, availability, and cost effectiveness this role works across boundaries to implement developed capital projects and improved processes.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implement controls for key asset risks;
  • Identification and development of key engineering projects to meet regulatory compliance, risk control, plant whole of life plans and plant improvement opportunities;
  • Provides technical oversight for plant;
  • Ensure compliance with plant change processes including records management;
  • Oversee and complete activities to meet asset related regulatory compliance;
  • Develop and execute projects that deliver sustained and/or improved plant performance cost effectively;
  • Develop procedures and plant change to promote innovation while protecting the asset;
  • Develops appropriate maintenance/engineering strategies using reliability centered maintenance practices;
  • Complete reporting, investigations and contribute technically in various forums as required.

About You

  • Bachelor of Engineering in an appropriate discipline or similar qualifications.
  • RPEQ or currently working to achieve RPEQ status.
  • A solid understanding of control systems architecture.
  • An understanding of Cyber security processes for OT networks.
  • Plant modification process, enterprise risk management, whole of life asset planning process, capital budget development process and continuous improvement process.
  • Project management, cost management and management of multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate to a variety of people at all levels of the organization.
  • Extensive knowledge of thermal generation processes and equipment.
  • Detailed knowledge of Siemens Distributed control systems and PLC systems.

This role is based at Callide Power Station and is a 40 hour per week role (Monday to Friday).
