Are you a qualified engineer with an interest and experience in telemetry systems? Come join our team as Council's SCADA Systems Technical Officer.

Ideally, you will:

• Have the ability to communicate technical matters with a range of staff members;
• Enjoy researching, analysing and solving simple and complex technical issues; and
• Working knowledge of both Citect and ClearSCADA is required.
• Advanced configuration level working knowledge of SCADA software is required.

The Opportunity

Banana Shire Council is seeking a Technical Officer to operate and maintain Council's SCADA and Telemetry Systems, and provide specialised SCADA knowledge and technical support to staff and customers.

Key Accountability and Responsibilities will include:

• Operate, maintain and support the SCADA and telemetry systems associated with water and sewerage infrastructure
• Provide specialised technical advice on SCADA/telemetry, electrical and treatment process automation matters
• Lead investigations, diagnostics and resolution of faults or failures in the SCADA/Operational Technology environment.

Eligibility requirements

• Queensland class 'C' manual driver's licence (minimum requirement – provisional licence)
• General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) Certification – White Card
• Bachelor degree or an associate qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Control Systems or Automation Engineering or related discipline

Desirable

• Microsoft Server and network security certification
• Vendor-specific SCADA training (e.g. Citect, GeoSCADA, ClearSCADA)
• Demonstrated training or experience in industrial cybersecurity, particularly within Operational Technology environments
• Experience in PLC programming and configuration (e.g. Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Siemens)
• Restricted Electrical Work License
