About the Role

As the Principal Water Services Engineer, you'll provide senior technical leadership in water and sewerage engineering, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective service delivery aligned with Council's strategic objectives. You'll lead network planning, oversee infrastructure projects, and mentor operational teams to deliver excellence in water services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead planning, design, construction, and maintenance of water and sewerage reticulation networks.
  • Develop hydraulic models and network planning reports.
  • Provide expert advice on development applications and technical submissions.
  • Manage contracts, procurement, and project delivery.
  • Monitor budgets and support cost-effective operations.
  • Ensure compliance with water quality standards and legislation.
  • Mentor and support the Reticulation Team and collaborate across departments.

What You'll Bring

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in civil or water engineering.
  • Proven experience in water supply and wastewater systems within local government or similar.
  • Strong technical writing, analytical, and hydraulic modelling skills.
  • Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Current C Class manual driver's licence and Construction White Card.

Desirable:

  • Significant post-graduate experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in local government.
  • Advanced leadership and motivation skills.
