About the job
As a Data and Performance Analyst, you will transform complex operational data into clear insights that support smarter decision-making and improved performance across our production, treatment, and wastewater operations. You' will work with various business units to meet reporting needs, create intuitive dashboards, and provide data-driven performance support.

About the Person
The ideal candidate is a proactive and adaptable analyst who combines technical capability with strong communication skills. They are confident working across multiple systems and data sources, and enjoy engaging with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions. With a continuous improvement mindset and resilience in fast-paced environments, they are comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities. They take pride in making data meaningful, helping others interpret and act on insights to enhance operational performance and service delivery.
About Operations and Maintenance
The Operations & Maintenance team oversees the management of our water, wastewater and River Murray activities and conducts operational control activities for a secure water supply. The team is responsible for both planned and unplanned maintenance activities, integrating corrective, preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance strategies. They aim to meet availability, performance, cost, and risk targets by leveraging technical asset maintenance and reliability expertise. Operations & Maintenance strives to deliver smart and reliable services to customers while enhancing overall operational efficiency.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:
Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.
You will:
- Lead and support regular operational and statutory reporting.
- Engage with stakeholders to clarify reporting needs and design fit-for-purpose dashboards and tools.
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports and visualisations, enabling data to be interpreted and actioned easily.
- Collaborate with technology teams to access and manage operational data across platforms.
- Support environmental compliance reporting and internal data analysis requests.
- Drive continuous improvement in data quality, reporting processes, and system integration.
- Provide hands-on support and training for field and operations staff using digital tools.
Your success in this role will come from:
- A knack for interpreting complex data and translating it into accessible insights.
- Solid interpersonal skills and an ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Advanced data analytics capability with experience in Power BI, SQL queries, and familiarity with tools and techniques such as R, Python, Grafana, PI AF, Maximo, Mercury, and Cappture.
- Experience in handling large volumes of data and providing analysis of the data to inform effective business decisions.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
- A continuous improvement mindset and enthusiasm for change.
- Tertiary qualifications in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar disciplines.
