The Position
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a key role within the finance team with responsibility for providing critical insights into project and business performance. You will manage month-end reporting requirements while partnering closely with project and construction staff. Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of monthly financial results, general ledger reconciliations, P&L and balance sheet reporting
- Tracking project costs, analysing variances and preparing budget inconsistency reports
- Managing WIP, ensuring job costing is accurate, up-to-date and cleared before month-end
- Partnering with project managers, construction managers and contract administrators to ensure costs reflect actual expenditure
- Supporting cash flow management, including monitoring revenue and expenditure against budgets
- Providing timely insights to support commercial decision-making
This role is 5 days on site near the CBD and offers the opportunity to work closely with both finance and project stakeholders.
The position is moving quickly with interviews commencing as early as the week beginning the 29th of September.

The Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will bring:
- 3–5 years' experience in a project accounting, management accounting or related finance role
- Prior experience in the construction industry (essential)
- Strong technical skills across project accounting, WIP management, cost analysis and reporting
- Advanced Excel capability (pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas, data analysis)
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with non-finance stakeholders
- Proven ability to deliver accurate month-end reporting under strict deadlines
