We are seeking a seasoned Finance Operations leader to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of billing and cash collections, ensuring the audit function drives a high level of compliance and engagement across operations and sales, as well focusing on continuous improvement with business and IT system processes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Manage timely and accurate invoicing in line with diverse contract structures, including per-session, per-employee, or retainer-based models.
• Oversee compliance with client-specific billing requirements, including PO numbers, client portals, and reporting deliverables.
• Lead proactive collection efforts to meet cash flow targets across a portfolio of public and private sector clients.
• Continuously improve billing and AR processes to support growth, service complexity, and compliance requirements.
• Drive automation and system enhancements in collaboration with IT and Service Delivery teams.
• Support finance system upgrades or changes as the subject matter expert for revenue-related functions.
• Oversee the tracking and resolution of billing or payment disputes raised by clients.
• Coordinate internal and external audit requirements relating to billing, AR, and revenue recognition.
• Partner with Sales, Service Delivery, and Account Management teams to maintain accurate contract and client data across systems.
• Support contract onboarding by reviewing financial clauses and ensuring systems are set up correctly from the outset.
About you:
• Qualified CA/CPA finance professional with minimum 5 years' experience ideally within professional services sector (preferably health)
• Previous experience in financial control, business process audits and working cross functionally
• Previous experience managing invoicing/billing and accounts receivable
• Proven supervisory experience ensuring the highest data integrity in the finance system.
• Financial control activities, including strong understanding of accounting standards
• Capable delegator and people developer
• Strategic insight and ability to find efficient solutions to complex issues
• High levels of accountability and collegiality, with a proven ability to drive accountability in others
• Commercial acumen and an impeccable attention to detail
• Self-starter and highly motivated individual who demonstrates initiative and has a strong desire to drive continuous improvement and achieve results
• Exceptional organisational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines
