Overview

Responsibilities
  • Manage the Underwriting mailbox and respond to internal and external queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support Cbus member-facing teams, the Insurer, and the Administrator with insurance administration and underwriting queries and reviews.
  • Investigate and resolve complex and escalated matters, including those under the Delegated Authority Framework and issues related to cover commencement and allocation.
  • Conduct insurance data reviews and audits to support quality assurance initiatives.
  • Provide subject matter expertise (SME) for business initiatives, process improvements, and incident management activities.
  • Offer technical guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders on insurance administration and underwriting matters.
  • Maintain and enhance the insurance administration and underwriting quality framework to ensure compliance with policies, fund rules, and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the MEX Member Performance Quality Assurance program to implement oversight activities for administrator-performed tasks.
  • Contribute to related projects and tasks as directed by the Manager.
Key Selection Criteria
  • Experience in insurance operations, ideally within a superannuation fund, consultancy, or insurer.
  • Strong technical knowledge of insurance processes, policies, and terms and conditions.
  • Familiarity with commercial and reporting aspects of insurance operations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A commitment to delivering superior member and employer experiences.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
