As a Research Assistant in the Department of Anatomy and Physiology, you'll work as part of a team to perform experimental investigations into the mechanisms regulating respiratory mucous production. You'll conduct in vitro cell culture studies, collaborate on method optimisation, and contribute to impactful and translational research outcomes. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply and enhance your scientific skills in a supportive, values-driven environment.
Your responsibilities will include
Conducting Independent and Collaborative Laboratory Research: Perform in in vitro cell culture studies and optimise methods for RNA and protein extraction for multi-omic analyses.
Data Collection and Analysis: Utilise specialised software for data assessment and contribute to data reports and publications.
Promoting University Values: Demonstrate diversity, inclusion, and high ethical standards in all laboratory practices.
You may be a great fit if
You will have a BSc (hons) degree and outstanding laboratory experience, with specific expertise in in vitro cell culture and preparing samples for 'omic' analyses, coupled with excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
You may also:
Have experience working on contract research projects.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
Be adept at managing competing priorities with strong time management skills.
Demonstrate knowledge in physiology and experience with rheometric analyses.
Be willing to occasionally work outside normal hours and travel off-campus.
