Service Technician

Tasman specializes in the rental and servicing of drilling and intervention tools suitable for use in the onshore and offshore oil and gas, coal bed methane and geothermal drilling, workover and decommissioning operations, offering a broad range of drilling rental tools and well intervention equipment along with the reassurance of in-house maintenance and specialized services.

Position:

We are looking for two motivated and hard-working individuals to join our team as Service Technicians. The successful applicants will be responsible for the Service and Maintenance of our rental fleet including Drilling Jars, Circulating Tools, Well Control and Handling Equipment.

Duties include:

·       Disassemble, service, reassemble and test drilling tools and associated equipment

·       Preparation of Drill Pipe, HWDP, Tubing and other OCTG for Inspection

·       Preparation of tools for third party inspection by sandblasting/hand grinding as necessary.

·       Operation of Forklift and Gantry Crane to Load / Unload Equipment

·       Timely & Accurate completion of Rental Return Slips upon return of equipment, including thorough checking of all accompanying parts

·       General housekeeping – working as part of a team to maintain general tidiness & safe working environment with the workshop.

·       Perform other duties as requested by Management.

·       Occasional offsite requirement to repair and maintain drilling equipment as instructed by Service Manager.

·       Attend Service Department Meetings.

Qualifications & Experience:

·       Mechanical Aptitude (Trade certificate desirable, but not essential)

·       Experience in Repair and Maintenance of Oil & Gas Drilling Tools, including Jars, Accelerators, Handling Equipment etc. (highly regarded but not mandatory)

·       High Risk Work License – Forklift

·       Dogman Certificate (highly regarded but not mandatory)

· Manual Drivers License (Essential)

·       Oilfield Drilling Rig Experience (highly regarded but not mandatory)

·       Service Experience in Mechanical/Service Shop Environment
