About the role:

You'll be coordinating and managing all geological activities on the mine site for the Technical Services team. Ensuring effective mining of ore occurs, minimising dilution and maximise value for the operations.

8 days on, 6 days off roster (12-hour day) with travel options available from Perth, Broome or Derby.

You will also be:

  • Ensuring safety, environmental and quality compliance.
  • Providing support for all geological aspects of planning, production and reconciliation.
  • Accurately entering and collating data.
  • Reviewing appropriate ore block designs.
  • Monitoring ore extraction process, including ore spotting as required.
  • Keeping an eye on short term blending and stockpiling requirements.
  • Creating daily / weekly reports.

To be considered, we'll be looking for:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology.
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience as a Mine Geologist.
  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to manage your time effectively.
  • Proficiency in GCX, Excel and Surpac is desirable.
  • Team-focused mindset.
  • An ability to think laterally and objectively.
  • You have a manual drivers licence.
  • Current and unrestricted Australian working rights.

Mount Gibson Iron Limited is an established independent Australian producer of premium quality direct shipping iron ore (DSO) with assets in the Kimberley and Mid-West regions of Western Australia.

Mount Gibson's flagship operation is the Koolan Island mine, located approximately 140km north of Derby in the Buccaneer Archipelago in the Kimberley. The mine is Australia's highest-grade producer of direct-shipping grade hematite, with an average Ore Reserve grade of 65.5% Fe.
