Assistant Retail Manager

Malanda Seafood is a family-owned business passionate about delivering premium wild-caught seafood to our community. We're looking for a motivated Assistant Retail Manager (2IC) with a strong attention to detail and a positive can-do attitude to join our team.
What You'll Do- Support the business owner with day-to-day store operations.
- Deliver outstanding customer service with confidence and product knowledge (training provided).
- Assist with stock control, merchandising, and store presentation. Stock packaging and rotation (no processing or freezer room work).
- Cash handling and POS operations.
- Maintain records and adhere to workplace health & safety standards.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing orders and deliveries.
- Previous retail or food industry experience (supervisory/2IC experience highly regarded).
- Strong customer service & communication skills.
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently when needed.
- Team player with a keen eye for detail and a can-do attitude.
- Physically fit – able to lift up to 15kg within a fast paced environment.
- Availability for weekdays and occasional Saturday (negotiation of hours between 24-36 hours per week for the successful applicant).
- Applicant committing to completing the busy Christmas season (performance bonuses available).
- Above award wages (General Retail Industry Award) with staff incentives and discount. Casual or permanent options available.
- On-the-job training provided.
- Supportive, locally-owned business with career progression opportunities (pathway into future management role).
- Be part of a team supporting Queensland's wild-caught seafood industry.
- No relocation funds available, but may be able to assist the right candidate with access to a local rental property to make the move easier (if required, please notify).
