Join a growing national team operating across four chemical manufacturing and storage sites.

Pool Pro is a large-scale Australian family-owned chemical manufacturer with a strong operational footprint. Our main production and warehouse facilities are based in Queensland, with smaller chemical storage and distribution sites located in Victoria and New South Wales.

All locations are classified as Major Hazard Facilities (MHFs) or Large Dangerous Goods (DG) sites, and we are seeking an experienced and hands-on Safety & Compliance Officer / Manager (dependent on experience) to drive compliance, safety, and quality outcomes across the business.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager and Managing Director, and working closely with an experienced external WHS Consultant, you will be responsible for maintaining and continually improving our safety, quality, and compliance systems across all locations with travel to these locations as needed.

You'll also work alongside state-based production and warehouse managers, providing support and guidance in meeting legislative requirements and ensuring best practices are embedded across our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead the development, implementation, and review of WHS policies and procedures, aligned to legislative and regulatory requirements.

· Manage the Chemical Management System, including SDS compliance, risk assessments, and storage controls.

· Drive Emergency Management planning, drills, and response protocols across all sites.

· Oversee the development, review, and rollout of Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) and Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs).

· Design and facilitate Competency-Based Training programs for staff, aligned with role-specific risk profiles.

· Monitor and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring product integrity and traceability.

· Coordinate and conduct site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments, including MHF obligations.

· Provide regular compliance reports and updates to senior management and external advisors.

· Work collaboratively with warehouse and production management to embed a strong safety culture at the operational level.

Skills & Experience:

· Minimum 5 years' experience in WHS/Compliance roles within chemical manufacturing or hazardous goods environments.

· Qualifications in WHS, Chemical Engineering, or related field (Diploma level or above preferred).

· In-depth understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation, Dangerous Goods regulations, and Major Hazard Facility (MHF) standards.

· Proven experience developing training programs and managing competency frameworks.

· Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 or similar).

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders.

· Ability to travel between sites across QLD, NSW and VIC as required.
