The Opportunity
Our Capital Development & Engineering team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Process Computing Engineer to join the team As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
The Process Computing team supports our Manufacturing businesses by providing expertise and advice on the efficiency, reliability and productivity of the operational technology systems and equipment. In this critical role, you will provide computing and process expertise to drive the improvement of the process computing systems associated with plant operations across Manufacturing, ensuring the overall quality and safety of our equipment.
What Will You Do?
Utilising your experience, knowledge, skills and critical thinking to drive the improvement of the process computing systems, you will also:
- develop and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with cross functional team members, while managing system and network performance
- plan and execute improvement projects from inception to completion
- assist with specification of system upgrade requirements
- provide breakdown and callout support for process computing managed systems
- manage system software, hardware and associated asset & risk registers
- support key internal customers on larger scale projects including the planning, execution and ongoing review of Operational Technology (OT) systems and assets

Perhaps you bring experience from a similar role or as a new graduate, we will provide you with on-the-job training and develop you in the role. As a self-motivated individual, along with your technical skills, you will bring:
- a degree qualification in Engineering (Computer, Telecommunications or Electrical), Computer Science or similar relevant tertiary Engineering/IT qualifications
- strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- experience with networking, Windows, Linux, programming and computing hardware
- an ability to communicate effectively and build constructive and effective relationships
