Regional Workshop Support Manager

What You'll Be Doing: 
In this varied role, you'll assist the Regional Fleet Asset Manager with the day-to-day management of workshop maintenance activities within the region through the following: :

  • Investigate and discuss accidents with Operations Manager
  • Ensure all workshop safety complies with WH&S standards. 
  • Equipment maintenance serviced on a regular basis. Ensuring that all workshops are always clean and tidy.  
  • Assist Workshop Supervisors to follow the Busways systems and procedures. 
  • Assess workshop staff for additional mechanics, apprentices, and cleaners.
  • Arrange apprentice training.
  • Check fuel and oil consumption reports. Identify buses that need attention. 
  • Conduct monthly checks on buses and report any faults to the Supervisor.  
  • Visits depots within your area on a weekly basis and report any finding to the Regional Manager of the area. 
  • Assist workshop staff in fault diagnosis. Ensure maintenance on depots is carried out effectively  
  • Oversee all Workshop Supervisors and ensure the achievement of all contractual and relevant internal KPI's. 
  • Acting as an escalation point for Workshop Supervisors within the Region and provide support and guidance as needed. 
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks and other duties as required

What You'll Bring: 

  • Trade qualification, extensive relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.  
  • A sound ability to communicate and engage with employees at all levels.  
  • Demonstrated knowledge including, complaint handling, employee relations, work, health and safety, policies and procedures, inclusion and diversity. 
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, the capacity to successfully deliver high quality outcomes and meet deadlines.  
  • Leadership capability, experience and demonstrated capacity to coach others 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain successful relationships.  
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational and time-management skills  
  • Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have working rights in Australia.  
  • Current Australian drivers licence issued by the relevant State
