About The Role
This is not your typical bookkeeping job. As a Senior Bookkeeper, you'll be at the forefront of client service managing bookkeeping workflows and contributing to our outsourced CFO service offering. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent client communication, and strong technical skills across cloud accounting platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Client Service & Relationship Management
- Coordinate and manage both in-house and outsourced bookkeeping and CFO services
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client queries, providing accurate and timely responses
- Support cloud accounting system integrations; recommend optimal solutions for client needs
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients through proactive communication and service excellence
- Onboard new clients, agreeing scope of work and client deliverables
Bookkeeping & Financial Oversight
- Process invoices, sales, and other financial transactions with accuracy
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
- Perform GST reconciliations and prepare BAS for lodgement
- Deliver reconciled month-end financials and management reports to senior management
- Review and oversee the work of junior and offshore bookkeeping staff
Team Collaboration & Administration
- Manage your workflow and schedule independently to meet client deadlines
- Record time, client disbursements, and ensure billing accuracy
- Take and implement feedback from management to support continuous improvement
- Handle multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently while ensuring confidentiality
About You
- Minimum 4–5 years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in a client-facing or advisory environment
- Experience working across a variety of industries and business structures
- Strong knowledge of cloud accounting platforms (e.g. Xero, Dext)
- Comfortable working autonomously and managing competing priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior team oversight or mentoring experience is a plus
- Motivation to learn and grow your knowledge and accounting skills
- Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting (or higher qualification preferred)
