We have a current opportunity for an
Apache Attack Helicopter Senior Advisor
, on a contract basis within the Defence sector. The role is based in
Canberra, ACT or Enoggera, QLD
. The contract is for an
initial 26 month period.

Start: circa 01 May 2026

DSS Skill Set: Level 4 - Program & Product Management Services & Support

The Apache Attack Helicopter Senior Advisor will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

  • provide detailed technical, professional and policy advice specific to the AH-64 Apache, and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management;
  • provide expert advice on Foreign Military Sales acquisition and sustainment cases specific to the AH-64 Apache;
  • identify and support the realisation of Defence capability benefits;
  • support the development of project and product strategies and plans;
  • support the development of project and product support functions, controls and implementation activities;
  • prepare, support, and where appropriate, facilitate briefings, workshops and presentations;
  • identify, establish and mature relationships with stakeholders internal to Defence and Australian industry, and external in foreign governments, militaries and industry;
  • provide subject matter expert advice and support to industry engagements, Tender Evaluation, and negotiation activities;
  • provide experiential advice on AH-64 Apache training and logistics systems, from requirements through to implementation;
  • mentor and coach other members of the Project Team on matters relating to project and product management, systems engineering, US Army methodologies and capability realisation.

Minimum mandatory requirements:

  • AGSVA Security clearance.
  • Defence experience.
  • Suerior knowledge of Defence Industry with respect to aviation, including current defence support arrangements for aviation platforms.
  • Superior knowledge of aviation support arrangements and contracts (including FMS Cases), including development, interpretation and application of logistics requirements, within performance-based contracts.
  • Superior knowledge of attack aviation platforms associated training systems and logistics support.
  • Experience in Tender Evaluation and negotiation processes, including previous participation in Tender Evaluation Working Groups.
  • Proven ability to work within a multi-disciplined Commonwealth and Contractor team to achieve effective outcomes.
  • Demonstrate behaviours to manage and control sensitive information.
  • Demonstrate behaviours to cultivate productive working relationships.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Working within the Australian Army Aviation capability.
  • Experience in Defence logistics.
  • Experience in the introduction of a new aviation system.
