Accountant – Williams Landing, VIC

We are a well-established and trusted accounting firm with offices in Footscray and Williams Landing, VIC. Known for our commitment to excellence and long-standing client relationships, we are now looking for an
experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Accountant
to join our growing team.

About the Role

In this role, you will work across a variety of accounting functions, supporting both our clients and managers. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and processing month-end reporting up to trial balance
  • Managing accruals, prepayments, journals, and the Fixed Assets Register
  • Reconciliations, including General Ledger and Balance Sheet
  • Handling Division 7A matters and inter-company transactions
  • Preparing FBT, GST, and BAS returns for review
  • Assisting with budgets and forecasting reports
  • Supporting accounts payable, receivable, and payroll for smaller clients
  • Providing ad hoc support and assisting managers with client advisory work
  • Maintaining professional relationships with the ATO, ASIC, and other stakeholders

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • At least 3 years' experience as an Accountant
  • A degree in Accounting (CPA/CA or working towards highly regarded)
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Initiative, problem-solving ability, and a team-first attitude
  • Proficiency with HandiSoft, MYOB, Reckon, Xero, Excel, and Word
  • Completion of taxation training (e.g., H&R Block, ITP) is an advantage
