About the role

As a Tax Accountant at BV Advisory, you will play a crucial role in providing expert tax consulting and compliance services to our diverse client base. Based in our Balwyn North office, this full-time position will see you working closely with senior members of the team to deliver high-quality tax advisory and preparation services to our valued clients.

What you'll be doing

  1. Preparation of tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies, trusts, and SMSFs
  2. Preparation of BAS, IAS, FBT, and other statutory compliance documents
  3. Assisting in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with accounting standards
  4. Providing tax advice and support to clients under the supervision of senior staff
  5. Maintaining accurate client records and meeting ATO lodgement deadlines
  6. Building and maintaining strong client relationships

What we're looking for

  1. 2–3 years' experience in an Australian public practice accounting firm
  2. Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  3. Commenced or working towards CPA/CA qualification (preferred but not essential)
  4. Sound knowledge of Australian taxation and accounting standards
  5. Proficiency with Xero, MYOB, or similar accounting software
  6. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
