Mary MacKillop Childcare North Queensland provides high-quality provision of care to families across the Diocese of Townsville, which stretches from Ingham in the North, Proserpine in the South, Mount Isa in the West and Palm Island to the East. We have grown to include 6 Early Learning Centres, 9 Kindergartens and 14 Outside School Hours Care centres.

About the position

St Mary MacKillop Early Learning Centre, Mount Isaprovides a strong foundation for children's social and educational development in a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment. Our programs are thoughtfully designed around each child's interests and developmental needs, with a focus on continually building their skills and confidence. With a clean, safe, and engaging facility, our team of qualified and passionate educators encourages creativity, exploration, and hands-on learning through play-based experiences that inspire curiosity and growth.

We are currently seeking a passionate and driven Kindergarten Teacher to join our team as soon as practical for Term 4 on a full-time, fixed-term basis. This role operates from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, and includes one full day of non-contact time per week.

As the Kindergarten Teacher, you will provide high-quality care and education that supports children's developmental and educational needs. You will take a hands-on approach to learning and work in close partnership with families and community stakeholders to foster a supportive and enriching early learning experience.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • ACECQA approved qualifications in Teaching/Early Childhood Education or near completion
  • Current Queensland College of Teachers registration (if applicable)
  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
  • Current First Aid Certificate Including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis or ability to obtain before commencement
  • Ability to pass a National Criminal History Check
  • Understanding and knowledge of National Quality Framework and My Time Our Place Framework
  • Ability to learn new systems and child care management software
