Emerald Lakes Golf Club is a premier, privately owned venue located in the heart of the Gold Coast, just 7km from Surfers Paradise and 25 minutes from Gold Coast Airport. The Club is a leader in the golf industry, featuring an 18-hole par 72 Graham Marsh-designed championship course, full driving range, practice facilities, coaching centre, and 18-hole mini golf course.

We are seeking an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent (2IC) to join our professional and motivated team. Reporting directly to the Golf Course Superintendent, this hands-on leadership role will see you play an integral part in the planning and delivery of all golf course maintenance operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious turf professional to further develop their leadership, technical and management skills within a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day management and maintenance of the golf course and associated facilities.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate the greenkeeping team.
  • Lead and coordinate turf maintenance operations, ensuring all mowing, renovation, irrigation, and presentation programs are executed efficiently and to high standards.
  • Support the Superintendent in developing maintenance programs, managing resources, and ensuring course presentation is maintained to the highest standards.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a similar supervisory or leadership role within the turf or golf industry.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
  • Strong knowledge of turf management practices and machinery operation.
  • Proficiency in pest and disease identification and control.
  • Experience in chemical and fertiliser applications.
  • Irrigation scheduling and repair experience highly regarded.
  • A solid understanding of the game of golf and course play-ability standards.
  • Ability to commit to full-time hours with rostered weekend work.
  • Strong understanding of WHS and environmental best practices.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III or Diploma in Sports Turf Management (Greenkeeping).
  • Current ACDC Certification.
  • Current and valid Australian driver's licence.
