About The Role
Essential Energy is seeking a dynamic and experienced Hosting Technology Manager to join our team. This is a permanent opportunity, and this role can be based anywhere within Essential Energy's operational footprint . In this role, you will be responsible for improving the automation of business services, speeding up delivery, and expanding or migrating on-premises infrastructure to our cloud platform infrastructure. You will lead a team of technical specialists, ensuring the seamless management of multiple, disparate, and distributed devices. Your innovative ideas and leadership will drive the implementation of diverse solutions that enhance our technology landscape.

Key Accountabilities Include

  • Manage and lead a team providing day-to-day maintenance and support of data centre and cloud infrastructure systems, ensuring 24x7 support availability for business-critical services
  • Lead the pursuit of emerging cloud technologies, identify improvement opportunities, and discover innovative ideas
  • Deliver transparent financial visibility of cloud technology costs to Product Managers and the Leadership team
  • Develop strategic relationships with leading technology innovators and vendors
  • Promote the use of automation controls for cloud infrastructure management, source control, test, release, and support activities
  • Implement and monitor Agile methodologies, guiding development teams and product management on agile practices
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Project Managers, Architects, and business leaders to ensure cloud developments meet defined business outcomes with high levels of safety, efficiency, quality, and simplicity
  • Stay abreast of industry approaches, tools, and techniques, maintaining current knowledge of technology landscapes

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong technical mindset with the ability to identify, understand, and define problems, evaluate alternatives, set priorities, manage projects, and implement high-quality solutions. You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and network effectively at all organisational levels and with external vendors.

Further To This You Will Have

  • Specialised professional experience in a similar role in a hosting and IT environment
  • Proven experience in technical leadership and oversight of implementation and deployment planning, system integration, ongoing data validation processes, quality assurance, delivery, operations, and sustainability of technical solutions
  • Practical experience in managing an Agile, highly technical, and dispersed team through development, deployment, delivery, and maintenance phases of enterprise-grade software solutions
  • Strong experience in implementing vendor product and bespoke solutions, including integrating multiple products to work in concert for a single, reliable outcome
  • Ability to think and act in an innovative and strategic manner
  • Strong time management skills with excellent planning and organisational skills

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Computer Science or Computing Technology or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualification
