The Role
Based in Artarmon, Sydney, and reporting to the Technology Operations Manager, the BMS Project Manager is responsible for overseeing BMS projects from Sales Handover through to the end of the Defects Liability Period. Managing projects valued between $100k and $5M, the role spans internal VAE mechanical works, commercial buildings, government projects, refurbishments, and wet concrete installations. You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders—including Construction Managers, Contractors, Builders, Consultants, and internal VAE teams—to ensure seamless project delivery and execution.
Your day-to-day responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:
- Lead end-to-end project delivery across all phases—from scope and design to commissioning and close-out
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely and effective project execution
- Plan and track project progress, providing regular updates and status reports
- Oversee procurement activities, including supplier and subcontractor negotiations
- Prepare key documentation such as RFIs, submittals, and construction correspondence
- Ensure commissioning, testing, and final tuning are completed, documented, and aligned with project milestones
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, PM methodologies, and contract requirements
- Manage risks and implement mitigation strategies to address technical and commercial challenges
What we are looking for
To be considered you will have worked in a similar role previously where you will also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Proven project management in the construction industry is mandatory (3+ years preferred)
- Tertiary or trade qualification in Mechatronics, Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls Systems, or similar
- Building Services experience
- Formal Project Management training is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to effectively read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience in managing budgets, forecasting, and reporting
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to develop and mentor a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Excellent Team player as well as able to work independently.
- Highly proficient in all MS Office applications, especially MS Project
- Valid Drivers Licence
- Construction Induction - White card
