Position: Fortnightly Caregiver – School-Aged Child
Location: Burleigh Waters, QLD
Days and Hours:
- Fortnightly, Tuesday to Friday (week on, week off)
- From school pick-up at 3:00 PM until mum finishes work (approximately 9:15pm–10:30 pm)
Role Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate caregiver to support a school-aged child during after-school hours in Burleigh Waters. The caregiver will provide supervision, engage in activities, assist with homework, and ensure the child's safety and wellbeing until parental return.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect child from school at 3:00 PM.
- Supervise and engage the child in safe, age-appropriate activities.
- Support the child with homework and learning tasks as needed.
- Prepare snacks and light meals if required.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured environment.
- Communicate with parents regarding the child's day, needs, and any concerns.
- Follow any care plans or routines provided by the family.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care ACECQA approved Certified by a JP
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Experience working with multiple children in a home environment
- Full driver's license and comfortable driving the family car
- Flexibility to work varying days and shifts based on the family's roster
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to establish strong relationships with children and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing safe, nurturing, and engaging care for the children
- Assisting with school drop-offs and pick-ups
- Engaging the children in educational and age-appropriate activities
- Assisting with homework
- Ensuring a calm and supportive environment, especially during morning and evening routines
