Come join Payroll Transactional Services as a Senior Payroll Officer where you will apply advanced technical payroll skills and high-level knowledge to resolve complex payroll issues and provide mentoring and coaching to staff to achieve team performance standards.

As a Senior Payroll Officer you will analyse, investigate and resolve complex payroll processing problems to meet agreed time standards. You will accurately perform payroll functions including rostering and HR master data maintenance in a timely manner. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with other team members within Payroll Services to ensure efficient quality client focused services are provided, by mentoring and providing advice or assistance as required.

Key competencies/suitability (role specific criteria and personal qualities)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary Human Resource Management issues, as well as the ability to access and interpret relevant industrial awards, agreements, statutory regulations and legislation relating to payroll.
  • Demonstrated advanced conceptual, analytical and problem-solving abilities in relation to complex payroll and establishment issues including utilising a risk management approach to the prioritisation and management of complex cases.
  • Proven ability to support and mentor payroll staff and contribute to ongoing individual and team development and effectiveness and the achievement of agreed performance objectives.
