The Comiskey Group is a successful and expanding family-owned Queensland business that builds and operates hotels, caravan parks and shopping centres in South East Queensland. Our venues include the award-winning venues of Eatons Hill Hotel, Sandstone Point Hotel and Sandstone Point Holiday Resort.

We are looking for a Senior Payroll Officer to join our team at Eatons Hill.

About the Role

Reporting to the Group Accountant, you will manage payroll operations for over 800 staff. This role suits a detail-oriented payroll professional who is ready to contribute to a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for 800+ employees, ensuring compliance with the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020.
  • Maintain and optimise payroll software systems (Humanforce and Access MicrOpay).
  • Handle WorkCover claims and Payroll Tax requirements.
  • Provide advice to improve payroll processes and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements.

What We're Looking For

We seek a skilled payroll professional with:

  • 5+ years of experience in a high-volume payroll environment.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, award interpretation and relevant legislation.
  • Experience with Humanforce or similar time and attendance software.
  • Familiarity with Access MicrOpay or similar payroll systems.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet payroll time schedules.
  • Clear communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage sensitive payroll matters confidentially.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Experience in the hospitality industry or with Humanforce/Access MicrOpay will be highly regarded.
