About The Role
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and guidance to offshore operation teams in administering, configuring and maintaining Linux (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu) and AIX operating systems across enterprise infrastructures, and ensure
- System performance, security, availability, and stability , while collaborating with other IT teams to support business-critical applications.
- Monitoring, Event and Incident Management, Problem management, Capacity Management, Change Management, Security Management including authorization, Configuration Management and troubleshooting of SQL databases in complex environments and in line with Service Descriptions and Service Level Agreements.
- Implementation of patching, backup strategies, and disaster recovery processes
- Provide third-tier support for complex Linux and AIX issues and act as a point of escalation for technical problems., and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate directly with clients to understand their system needs and deliver tailored technical solutions and projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in developing new solutions and project delivery
- Automate routine tasks through scripting (Bash, Perl, Python) to improve operational efficiency.
- Produce and maintain appropriate documentation and charts describing hardware setups, diagrams, operational procedures, reports and overall inventory
- Stay current on emerging industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Be the primary contact for customer management for all Linux and AIX topics
- Provide 24x7 on call support for major incidents.
- Minimum of 5 years in Linux system administration or engineering roles.
- Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Python).
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Experience with IBM AIX systems- knowledge of AIX systems administration, performance tuning, system security, and high availability (HACMP/PowerHA) solutions.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and services
- RHCE, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or equivalent.
