My client is a leading scientific institution dedicated to solving complex challenges through nuclear science and innovation. As part of their operations, they run a variety of Scientific Instrument Computers that are critical to research, industrial control, and data analysis.
Your new role
As a Senior Linux Remediation Engineer, you will lead the remediation, replacement, or decommissioning of legacy Linux-based Scientific Instrument Computers. You'll collaborate closely with scientists and IT teams to deliver reliable, secure, and well-documented systems while mitigating cybersecurity and operational risk.
What you'll need to succeed
- 5+ years' experience in a Level 2 or 3 Support capacity
- Strong expertise with Linux-based operating systems
- Proven ability to solve complex IT issues
- Experience with secure system design and implementation
- Hands-on involvement in hardware rollout and upgrade projects
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Active NV1 Clearance
- Experience with scientific or medical instrumentation
- Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Java, C++)
- Cisco CCNA or higher in Cybersecurity/Enterprise
- ITIL 4 certification or above
- Experience mentoring or training support team members
