What you'll be doing

The Digital Application team at NSLHD delivers comprehensive support for Cerner eMR applications, encompassing ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and data quality management. The team provides expert guidance on system enhancements and optimization, consults on the development of new clinical applications, and advises on business process transformation, change management, and post-implementation reviews.

With the implementation of the Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR) scheduled for November 2026 across Northern Sydney and Central Coast Local Health Districts, the Primary Responsibilities of the Application Specialist will be to continue to support existing eMR applications while playing a key role in the SDPR transition. This includes ensuring technical readiness, engaging stakeholders, managing change, and providing ongoing support to meet clinical and operational needs throughout both districts.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management or equivalent experience in a Health discipline, Information Management/informatics, or Information Communications & Technology.
  • Demonstrated highly developed analytical and problem solving skills, attention to detail, including the ability to assess and critically evaluate the validity of information, problem identification, analysis and resolution
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in major hospital information systems (such as Cerner eMR); understanding of the use of patient information, and the interactions between critical applications at a local and state level; understanding work practices and functions they support; experience and understanding of testing including PAS integration testing
  • Demonstrated experience in liaising effectively and working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, to facilitate cooperation and support in achieving outcomes, and maintaining strong effective work relationships. Demonstrated highly developed customer engagement and support experience for delivery of excellent services
