About the job:

We are seeking a mature, experienced and empathetic Medical Receptionist to join our friendly team. This role involves working every Tuesday from 8:00am to 1:00pm, with additional hours available to cover holiday and sick leave. There is also potential for permanent hours in the future.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcoming patients and visitors to the centre
• Answering and following up on phone calls and email enquiries
• Scheduling appointments and maintaining the appointment system
• Creating, updating and maintaining patient records
• Tidying reception, waiting and treatment rooms
• Performing general administrative and office duties
• Processing payments, Medicare, DVA, and Work Cover claims
• Opening and closing the practice as required

What we're looking for:

• Full Australian working rights
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a medical receptionist (GP clinic experience preferred)
• Proficiency with medical software (Best Practice preferred)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Proactive and calm under pressure, with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
