ConnectSydney, a joint venture of ServiceStream, Boral, and Johnson Controls, in partnership with Transport for NSW, is entrusted with the management of the Harbour Zone. Our responsibilities encompass routine maintenance, strategic enhancements, and specialised projects aimed at bolstering Sydney's transport infrastructure. 

We are currently looking for a talented, motivated, and driven individual to join our well-established inspection team within ConnectSydney's Network Needs team as a Bridge Structures Inspector. The Bridge Structures Inspector will be responsible for a high degree of data collection from structures inspections, preparation of condition rating reports, and timely data input into the Asset Management System.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for inspecting, assessing, and reporting on the status and condition of ConnectSydney's structures
  • Promote a strong commitment to a quality culture, implementing standards of excellence and a continuous improvement business focus
  • Assist Supervisors in planning all works and maintenance in accordance with the standards and risk management processes
  • Compliance with all contract requirements regarding scheduled inspections
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of inspection and maintenance plans
  • Assist in business development activities as required
  • Ensure all required management systems are updated accurately and in a timely manner
  • Raise work orders within ConnectSydney asset management system
  • Required to travel within the region and work outside normal working hours including weekends

About You

  • Ability  to  interpret  and  quantify  asset  data  from construction drawings and plans
  • Written communication skills including, sound spreadsheet and word processing abilities
  • allowing for the preparation of correspondence, reports and proposals
  • Experience in the inspection and condition assessment of civil assets
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member without supervision and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability  to maintain  databases,  geographical information systems, asset management system
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of Asset Management principles, and systems
  • Certificate IV in Civil Construction, or relevant experience in a related field
  • Experience in TfNSW bridge inspection and assessment process is highly desirable
  • TfNSW Bridge Inspection Procedure Level 2 Training is highly desirable
