The Opportunity
We are currently looking for an experienced and passionate Care Aide to join our Aged Care Team in Carnarvon. This is a permanent part-time role, offering a contract of 27 hours per fortnight with a regular, ongoing roster as follows:Tuesday: 9:00am - 1:00pm, Wednesday: 9:00am - 3:00pm and Thursday: 9:00am - 1:00pm.
Our Care Aides deliver exceptional care and support to our clients, enhancing and encouraging participation in their own care to maintain their independence, where possible. Responsibilities include a range of personal care tasks incl. showering, grooming, toileting etc. and other support such as medication assistance, meal preparation, domestic assistance/general housekeeping tasks and social support in the community. Care Aides will follow a predetermined schedule, travelling from home to home, therefore having unrestricted access to a vehicle and the ability to follow a digital schedule and care plan autonomously, via a mobile app, will be essential.
Servicing the following suburbs: Babbage Island, Brockman, Brown Range, Carnarvon, East Carnarvon, Greys Plain, Inggarda, Kingsford, Massey Bay, Morgantown, North Plantations, South Carnarvon, South Plantations
About You
- Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, HACC, Disability is highly desirable, although not essential.
- Those with a relevant Certificate will require a minimum of 3 months relevant care worker experience. Those without a relevant Certificate will require a minimum of 6+ months relevant care worker experience (FTE).
- Experience working in a home care/community setting is highly desirable.
- A valid Drivers' License with unrestricted access to a registered vehicle which is appropriately insured and in good condition, is essential.
- Ability and willingness to work autonomously in the community, travelling from home to home, referring to a digital schedule and care plan, via a mobile app, will be essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills are essential.
