Placement Broker
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Placement Broking team at
Marsh & McLennan Agency
. This hybrid role will be based in Melbourne. An ideal opportunity for a senior Broker wishing to demonstrate their strong relationship management and marketing skills within an exciting dynamic business unit

We Will Count On You To

• Manage the placement of existing and new business while serving as a key negotiator and problem solver in obtaining the most appropriate placements based on our client needs
• Build and maintain strong relationships with underwriters, practice leaders, claims personnel and client service teams
• Assist in the design, planning and implementation of clear and effective renewal and broking strategies as required
• Keep abreast of changing market conditions and inform practice client servicing teams, and/or clients of major developments affecting various types of coverage

What You Need To Have

• Ideally, a minimum of 4 years' experience within a broking, underwriting or placement position
• A solid understanding of risk management and major classes of insurance (Property, Liability and Motor) would be highly regarded
• Relevant Broking qualifications (Tier 1 Compliance) and tertiary studies are desired

What Makes You Stand Out

• Exceptional communication, influencing, and negotiation skills
• Possess and apply a good understanding of Property / Engineering / General Liability and Motor classes of insurance and keep abreast of all new technical and product developments through attendance at company and industry training events
• Possess and apply a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of the Insurance (Agents & Brokers) Act, Insurance Contracts Act, Fire Services Levy, Stamp Duties, Worker's Compensation, GST, key Trade Practices Act provisions and other relevant legislation
