About the role

Study Gurus is expanding We're looking for a passionate Education Counsellor to join our friendly team in Cairns.

If you enjoy helping people achieve their goals, have great communication skills, and want to make a difference in the lives of international students, this is the role for you.

As an Education Counsellor, you'll guide students through their education journey — from choosing the right course and preparing documents to supporting them after arrival in Australia. You'll also contribute to marketing and outreach activities that connect students worldwide with the Study Gurus brand.

Student Counselling & Visa Support

• Provide personalised advice on study options and institutions
• Conduct student consultations (in person, online, or by phone).
• Manage course applications, admissions, deferrals, and extensions.
• Maintain accurate student records and case notes in our CRM.
• Support students from first enquiry through to graduation.

Marketing & Outreach

• Promote Study Gurus' services and the benefits of studying in Australia.
• Support marketing campaigns, events, and community initiatives.
• Build and nurture relationships with education providers and cultural partners.

• Experience in education counselling, student services, or a related advisory role (preferred but not essential).
• Good understanding of Australian education and visa systems (preferred but not essential).
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills; culturally aware and empathetic.
• Strong customer-service focus with the ability to problem-solve and work independently.
• Organised, proactive, and goal-driven — able to meet enrolment and performance targets.
• Computer literacy (MS Office / CRM systems).
• Additional language skills are highly regarded.
