About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Systems Accountant to join our corporate team in Cairns. In this critical role, you'll be the go-to expert for financial systems support and optimisation across ADG.

You'll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing financial systems, leading process improvements, and supporting systems integration projects. Working closely with our Finance, IT, and external vendors, you'll ensure our systems run smoothly, securely, and in compliance with relevant accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance financial systems, reports, ETLs, configurations, and security
  • Provide technical advice on accounting transactions and reconciliations
  • Drive continuous improvement and system enhancements across the group
  • Lead implementation of new features and upgrades in collaboration with vendors and internal teams
  • Deliver training and support to finance and operational users
  • Manage workflows, chart of accounts, and system access
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and support internal/external audits
  • Apply cyber security policies to identify and respond to potential threats
  • Contribute to business transformation and system integration projects

About You

You bring a strong background in finance or accounting, paired with hands-on systems experience. You're a confident problem-solver, a proactive team player, and someone who thrives in a collaborative and evolving environment.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting
  • Demonstrated experience in systems administration and finance systems support
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards and principles
  • Experience working with various financial systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proven experience with system upgrades and implementations
  • Professional, team-oriented, and detail-focused
  • Ability to obtain an ASIC and pass an AFP background check

Desirable:

  • Experience in aviation or a related corporate environment
  • Familiarity with TechnologyOne
