Join the Charlie's Mates Team as a Dog Grooming Trainee

Are you passionate about dogs and ready to launch a rewarding career? Charlie's Mates, a well-established dog grooming and daycare centre in Wentworth Point, is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a full-time Dog Grooming Trainee.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become a grooming superstar You'll receive comprehensive training and a stable income while earning your Certificate III in Animal Care Services (Pet Grooming).

What You'll Be Doing

As a Grooming Trainee, you'll work closely with our head groomer to learn all aspects of the trade, from nose to tail. Your role will evolve over the two-year traineeship, starting with perfecting your bathing skills and dog handling before moving on to advanced grooming techniques, including scissoring and breed-specific grooms.

You will also:

  • Perform bathing and grooming procedures.

  • Learn and apply excellent customer service skills.

  • Complete daily cleaning tasks to maintain a pristine and safe environment.

  • Ensure the health and safety of all dogs in our care.

The position is a permanent, full-time role, with workdays from Tuesday to Saturday.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a bubbly, outgoing, and self-motivated individual who is reliable, hardworking, and eager to learn. Previous experience in a salon or doggy daycare is a bonus but not essential, as full training is provided. Prior customer service experience is also highly regarded.

Most importantly, you must be passionate about dogs and their welfare. If you pay attention to detail and are driven to excel, this is the perfect role for you
