Role Overview

As a passionate HSEQ professional, you'll play a critical role in fostering a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance across all areas of the business. You'll be a strong leader with specialist knowledge of legislation, standards, risk management processes, and incident investigations.

  • Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Set strategy for the Safety Department and operations teams to eliminate incidents and lost time injuries
  • Develop communication programs to support safety initiatives and culture
  • Partner with leaders to address safety concerns and develop practical solutions
  • Lead HSEQ campaigns and initiatives across the business

Planning & Implementation

  • Review, develop, and monitor an effective HSEQ Plan tailored to business needs
  • Provide specialist advice and practical guidance to all levels of the organisation

Auditing, Risk & Incident Management

  • Manage scheduled and unscheduled audits across sites
  • Oversee hazard identification, incident reporting, and investigations
  • Deliver workplace safety improvement initiatives

HSEQ Management System

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and integrate them into business plans
  • Own the business safety plan and mentor site management in its execution

Reporting & Performance

  • Report monthly on HSEQ performance, and strategic plans
  • Ensure business units take ownership of safety outcomes

About You

You're an experienced HSEQ leader with a background in transportation or logistics, and you thrive in high-risk environments. You're a confident communicator who builds trust across all levels of the business.

You'll bring:

Formal WHS qualifications (tertiary qualifications highly regarded)

Extensive understanding of relevant legislation, standards, and practices

Proven ability to influence, coach, and mentor stakeholders

Experience in a similar role within transportation, logistics, or mining
