Traffic Management Officer

About the role

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Traffic Management Officer to join the Asset Management team at the City of Swan.

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for reviewing and assessing temporary Traffic Management Plans (TMP) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS), auditing the implementation of temporary traffic management on roads within the City and reporting any non-conforming sites to ensure compliance with local and state traffic regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality services to our community.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to;

• Review, comment on and undertake approval of Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs) for works within the City of Swan, including for events.
• Proactively monitor temporary traffic management sites associated with works on roads and events within the City and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
• Provide assistance with the investigation and resolution of temporary traffic management issues on site raised by others.
• Provide the accurate and timely administration of all temporary traffic management functions including, approval letters, registration and filing of documentation, reporting and other systems data management.
• Identify and report non-compliance relating to TMPs or TGSs and provide the relevant feedback and coaching to agencies to ensure compliance.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Demonstrated knowledge of the current standards and technical requirements required to enforce the correct implementation of temporary traffic management within Western Australia
• Demonstrated ability to provide accurate and timely administration of all temporary traffic management related functions, approval letters, electronic records management, reporting and use of other electronic systems.
• Demonstrated history of effectively negotiating and managing interactions with relevant stakeholders.
• A team member with a strong appreciation of safety, continuous improvement and good customer service.
• A valid Basic Worksite Traffic Management qualification
• A valid WorkSafe WA Construction Induction Certificate-White Card
• A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required.

The salary for this position will be from $84,485 to $100,282 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
