Seniors Contracts Administrator

About the Role
Reporting to our O&S Telstra Commercial Manager with oversight of our Telstra Network project portfolio, this position has responsibility for both client and supply chain commercial compliance and management. 

The role will also interact closely with the broader delivery management team to optimise project performance in all areas.

This role can be based out of Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Perth.

Other responsibilities:

• Commercial representative with the supply chain and clients to work through commercial matters.
• Manage, co-ordinate and perform the contract administration responsibilities for TFO.
• Lead and administer Risk & Opportunity process within contracts to create 'no surprises' 'continuous improvement' culture leveraging commercial opportunities, from pre-tender through to demobilisation.
• Support delivery of financial and contractual information to internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide project health checks and advise the Project leaders of any potential risks and or opportunities to project targets, including associated mitigation measures.
• Support Contract Manager in upstream commercial management activities including head contract compliance, governance forums, variations, contractual notices (timely preparation and response.)
• Administration of compliant notices including potential contract impacts, variations, and latent conditions, and lead in strategic resolution of contractual disputes and notices.
• Preparation of reports, document management and maintenance of registers.
• Support end to end procurement function including: analysis of procurement options, tender document drafting, scope preparation, tender, prequalification, selection, negotiation (rates and contract terms), and award
• Work collaboratively with estimating and operational teams to ensure compliant, efficient, timely and value add RFQ process.
• Preparation of data reports, models and analysis to inform business decision making.

About you
To be successful in your application, you will have relevant tertiary qualification in Law, Engineering, Construction Law, Construction/ Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, Business Management, Finance or equivalent accompanied with:

• Experience in area of contract administration/ commercial management / Quantity Surveying on projects/contracts
• Experience in a telecommunications or electrical environment is advantageous
• Working knowledge, ability to read and apply standard forms of subcontracts and mechanisms
• Working knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts and mechanisms, contract law, flow throughs, ability to negotiate terms within provided parameters, and manage associated risks
• Proven experience with engagement of high-level stakeholders, internal and external
• Commercial acumen: subcontract management / tendering, legal claims, administration, modelling, KPIs, profit improvement
