About the Role
: To ensure the committed outputs and complex requirements of DEM, the department is seeking to procure a Probity Advisor over a one-year period. This procurement is required to enable DEM to apply sound procurement and probity principles and practices to the work being undertaken to support the administration and sale of the Whyalla Steelworks, including any potential allocation of government funding to a new purchaser.
Responsibilities
:
- To ensure the impartiality and fairness of government spending and decision-making.
- Manage real and perceived conflicts of interest.
- Manage confidentiality requirements.
- With sound knowledge of SA government procurement policies and procedures.
- With experience in complex procurement and negotiation processes for the South Australian government or equivalent.
- With sound understanding of the principles of ethics and probity in procurement operations.
- Preferably with probity experience within SA government for projects of a high level of market interest and/or significant value and complexity.
- The probity resource will work with DEM staff to ensure that all processes are conducted in a manner that aligns with the probity standards of the South Australian government.
- The Probity Officer will be required to deliver services of the following nature:
- General probity advice and services in accordance with SA Government standards for probity, governance, ethics and values in relation to the delivery of the remit of DEM.
- Specific probity advice to support more specific individual processes and/or projects, including the development of probity plans if required.
- Advising on potential risks and issues as they arise.
- Reviewing documentation.
- Attending meetings with industry stakeholders as requested.
- Maintaining a conflict-of-interest register or registers.
