Here, you will have the chance to support adults in the community to achieve meaningful goals, while working across a wide range of funding bodies including NDIS, Lifetime Support Authority (LSA), Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), Homecare Package (HCP) and private paying.
What you will be doing
· Home assessments
· Functional capacity assessments
· Assistive technology assessments
· Living skills programs
· Home modifications
· Community mobility assessments
· Return to work programs
· Rehabilitation
· Contributing to in-services
· Developing allied health assistant programs
What you can expect from the Praktis team:
· A structured graduate program for one hour for 12 weeks then fortnightly sessions covering everything from how to do initial assessments to completing home modifications and neuro rehabilitation
· Lots of support We offer 1-on-1 supervision with an experienced occupational therapist adjusted from weekly to fortnightly. As well as fortnightly early careers peer mentoring group with other new graduates to bounce idea off each other in a safe and supportive environment and it would be rude not to mention our twice weekly clinical huddles - offering you plenty of opportunities to ask any burning questions
· A sustainable workload with graded and realistic KPI's – We don't want our new graduate being burnt out or stressed.
· A varied caseload (where you can expect to do Functional Capacity Assessments, Assistive Technology Reports, Home Modifications as well as interventions), allowing for a combination of report writing and face to face visits – so every day is different
· A close and connected team – with the fortnightly team meetings to celebrate your wins and share your ideas and regular social out-of-work events
· A flexible work environment with opportunities to work from home.
· Access to experienced seniors who want to support your development.
What you will need to fit into the team:
· Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
· Current registration, or eligibility to register for full membership with AHPRA
· A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle
· National Police check, Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker check or a willingness to obtain?
· And most importantly, a passion and a drive to support and making a positive change in your client's lives
